Rafiqul Islam Madani, a ‘child talker’, has been re-arrested on charges of anti-state and provocative speech and creating chaos.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him from Netrokona on Wednesday afternoon.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of the RAB’s law and media branch, confirmed the matter.
He said Rafiqul Islam Madani used to make provocative statements on various issues at different times. He made arrogant remarks about President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Not only that, he made various provocative speeches against the state. We have allegations that it has instilled fear in the minds of the people.
‘These arrogant speeches of a child speaker have created a backlash among the public. Which can cause chaos in society. Preparations are being made to file a case against him. More details will be given in this regard.
Earlier on March 25, Motijheel police arrested the ‘child speaker’ from an anti-Modi protest procession at Shapla Chattar in the capital. However, he was released a few hours later.
As per the pre-arranged program, the Students and Youth Rights Council staged an anti-Modi protest in Mustang on that day. Rafiqul joined the protest.
