The country’s largest corona hospital was inaugurated on Sunday


The country’s largest corona hospital will be inaugurated next Sunday (April 18) in the capital’s Mohakhali. The 1,000-bed hospital has been named ‘DNCC Dedicated Corona Hospital’.

There are 100-bed ICUs and 112 HDUs. There is also a central oxygen supply system for patients.

Washing and wiping work is going on in the hospital now. After the inauguration on Sunday, the treatment will officially start. Then it will be the largest corona hospital in the country.

According to the Ministry of Health, the hospital is being set up in an empty building of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mohakhali Raw Market (six stories) with an area of ​​one lakh 60 thousand 560 square feet.

Until now, the market has been used as a corona isolation center and as a corona testing lab for expatriates. Now the activities of Corona Hospital have started but those services will continue separately.

On Friday (April 17), it was seen on the spot that the construction work of the hospital is underway in the six-story building constructed for Mohakhali Raw Market. The emergency department has been set up on the second floor.

This section has 50 beds. Two beds have been set up in the third, fourth, and fifth-floor shops. A large room with glass has been made in the empty space of each floor. This room has 25 beds.

Central oxygen supply has been arranged here. In addition, ICU and HDU beds have been set up on the sixth floor with a few separate rooms. Now the workers are working in these two departments. It is being supervised by members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces.

According to Health Department sources, the Ministry of Health is providing 500 doctors, 600 nurses, 600 staff, and medicines and equipment to provide medical services at the hospital. Already more than a hundred doctors and more than two hundred nurses have joined the work. The rest will join the work by Saturday. However, the hospital will be run by the Bangladesh Army.

Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin, Director, DNCC Dedicated Corona Hospital, said, “The hospital was scheduled to be inaugurated on Saturday (April 18). But there is still some work to be done.

I hope to be able to officially inaugurate the hospital on Sunday. However, only corona treatment will be given in this hospital for the time being. No operation will be performed here. Many corona patients need dialysis. Four beds have been arranged for them in the ICU department.
